Having staff trained to the latest childcare industry standards is fundamental to the success of our services. All our senior staff members and managers have achieved level 2 and 3 childcare qualifications, and some have level 4 qualifications. More junior staff who have not already achieved these qualifications will be working towards them through an apprenticeship.
Our staff also meet professional standards in safeguarding, and health, safety and first aid.
The owner of The Childcare Academy previously ran a successful apprenticeship training centre that trained and qualified nursery staff for more than twenty years. During that time, his training company placed and trained more than 5000 childcare apprentices. Early Years (Childcare) Apprenticeships provide an optimum industry standard for ensuring The Childcare Academy staff meet and exceed the required standards for working with children.
We are committed to the ongoing development of all staff through recognised industry training programmes. The professional development of our team, supervisors and managers is a continual cycle of investment.
Our staff operate under the expert direction of our centre manager, Tamasine Vickery.
A highly qualified and experienced early years manager, teacher and vocational assessor, Tammy has more than a decade of practical experience in childcare and many more years in the training sector. Indeed, she has unrivalled expertise in people management across early years provision and childcare training in the region.

It’s important to note that our staff are paediatric first aid trained and CRB checked.
