The Childcare Academy team is thrilled to announce that following our inspection in October, our early years provision has been rated as ‘good’ by the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills (OFSTED).
We are incredibly proud of this achievement which is a testament to the hard work put in to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children by all the team at The Childcare Academy. The report highlights our strengths, some of which are summarised below.
Friendly, welcoming environment
Nursery staff greet children and parents with smiles and eagerness, offering nurturing hugs and creating strong attachments. Consequently, children feel safe and secure.
Wellbeing
Staff place great emphasis on supporting children’s emotional wellbeing, helping them explore and express feelings. Parents say children settle quickly when they start at the nursery.
Promoting positive behaviour
Staff promote positive behaviour, encouraging children to share and care, follow rules and take turns.
Management
The management team works well together, has a clear vision, is approachable, and ensures staff receive appropriate support and professional development.
Curriculum
The curriculum supports all children in attendance, including those speaking English as a second language and having enhanced play plans. As a result, children benefit from meaningful and focused learning experiences. Furthermore, staff have high expectations of every child and encourage progress.
Communication
Staff support communication and children’s language development well. Specifically, they do this through songs, rhymes, stories, and asking questions.
Relationships with parents
Staff have good relationships with parents. They are kept informed of their children’s progress during their time at the nursery and provided with guidance on supporting learning at home. In addition, staff encourage parents to share information about their child’s learning at home. This fosters two-way communication that supports progression.
Safeguarding
Our safeguarding arrangements were rated as effective. Our premises are safe and secure, and our safeguarding procedures are robustly followed by staff to help keep children safe.
The inspection results reflect our ongoing commitment to providing a safe, happy and nurturing environment where children are respected and encouraged to develop and flourish. We would like to thank staff and parents for their input during the Ofsted inspection process.
